Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with former trainer his previous coach.

Presently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's first trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from March of that year.

Victory also means he has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament in the past months.

His defensive play style and regular outbursts on court had prompted observers to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was finished.

But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

He came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour championship, took control to force a third set.

He defended four early-game opportunities in a close final set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner earned the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
