I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
